I got my flak vest mostly down to show how the armour would sit on it. I also got a girth belt (read more about in Soft Parts: Flak Vest3). I then started on the concept of my cod piece and kidney plate with the new pouches I got from Tiric Keel.
I first found an old belt that I branded a P2 into back in 2004 at the BSA Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. I also found an old belt buckle which I don’t wear as often as my other buckles. I planned to grind off the face of the buckle to fit in the Star Wars universe (plain like Han Solo’s).
Velcro was to be attached to the cod piece and the flight suit to have it be in the right place (image currently does not have velcro attached as you can see the zipper showing).
I threw on my girth belt and took a front, right side, back, and left side shot to see how it would fit. It looked pretty good, but I would need a way of lining up the cod piece with the kidney plate.
My thought process was to bolt the pouches and belt unto the plates. This enabled me to wear it like I would any belt just a little more weight.
I then of course grinded down the buckle to make it “in universe.” See images below of before and after shots.
Later that month I put my whole kit on (minus the flak vest being velcroed at the sides).
It is starting to come together nicely,
Also not that my diamond piece is not in these pictures. I plan to put on my lower armour next while I wait for some items from RKD (Red Krayt Dragon) off the forums. I bought ABS gauntlets with some greeblies and a pair of V1 knee armour assemble kits. Stay tune for an update on the knee armour and look for an update on the gauntlets in the near future.
